1997: Manchester United 7-0 Barnsley

Andrew Cole’s hat-trick helped Manchester United thrash Barnsley at Old Trafford. 

The away side had no response as Cole’s two goals in two minutes started the rout. Ryan Giggs added a third before Cole completed his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time. 

Goals from Giggs, Paul Scholes and Karel Poborsky after the break secured a comfortable victory for the league leaders who returned to the top of the table above Arsenal with 25 points. 

At the other end of the table, Barnsley remained 20th on nine points, two points from safety.

2003: Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 Leicester City

Wolverhampton Wanderers produced a stunning comeback to beat Leicester City in a thrilling bottom-of-the table contest at Molineux.

Two goals in four minutes by Les Ferdinand had given Leicester the lead before Riccardo Scimeca added a third as the Foxes headed into the half-time break three goals to the good.

Colin Cameron scored a brace, while Alex Rae and Henri Camara scored one each in Wolves' second-half revival to help secure the home side's second league win. 

It mean that Leicester suffered their fifth consecutive league defeat which left them in 20th on five points, three points from safety. The result moved Wolves up to 15th with nine points.
