Everton moved to the top of Group D in the Premier League Cup with a 3-1 victory over Portsmouth at Southport.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin rounded Pompey goalkeeper Liam O’Brien for Everton’s opener on 15 minutes, before visiting centre-back Tom Davies scored an own goal and Calum Dyson (pictured above) found the net with a powerful header in the second half.

Harvey Bradbury pulled a goal back for Portsmouth, who drew their opening two fixtures of the PL Cup.
But Everton held on and have six points from three matches, putting them two clear of Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers with three away trips left in Group D. The top two teams qualify for the round of 16.
