Day 3 of the ePremier League Invitational concluded with Leicester City's James Maddison earning a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace's Max Meyer on EA SPORTS FIFA 20.
Ayoze Perez struck the winner as Maddison came from 2-1 down before Kasper Schmeichel made a stunning stoppage-time save to give him a quarter-final place.
It was the second match of Maddison's shown on Thursday, with the midfielder also securing an impressive 8-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
Due to technical difficulties, that first-round tie was pre-recorded on Wednesday night off-air, and was shown in full as the day's first encounter.
Elsewhere, John Egan claimed an extraordinary 4-3 win over Manchester United fan and England cricketer Jofra Archer to take Sheffield United through to the quarter-finals.
In a frantic finale the Blades defender scored on 89 minutes with David McGoldrick, before Archer hit the crossbar as he was denied a last-gasp equaliser.
Earlier in the day, Norwich City defender Max Aarons reached the last eight with a 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur's Ryan Sessegnon.
Charlie Taylor is also through to the last eight after beating Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden 4-3.
The Burnley defender scored twice with the in-game character of midfielder Jack Cork, as he edged out Foden despite Sergio Aguero's double.
