For many families, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused job insecurity and financial challenges.

As a result, some households have struggled to buy enough to eat, leading to an upsurge in demand at foodbanks. Many families are using them for the first time.

To help address this need, Burnley FC in the Community, together with the Burnley Together community hub, has supplied more than 1,500 food parcels to the local community since the end of March, feeding 3,562 people.

The deliveries have certainly made a big difference.

"We absolutely could not believe the amount of food you kindly gave and delivered," one mum who has three children told the club's official website.

"You've helped us out financially and put a lot of stress to the side. You all help people, risking your own health. You also made me feel very comfortable ringing for help.

"We would also like to say a massive thank you to all that kindly donated food to you."

You can help Burnley deliver the service by donating on the foodbank's Just Giving page or by donating items of food at various drop-off points.
