Aubameyang impresses again
His opening goal in Arsenal's Community Shield win over Liverpool showed why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£12.0m) is the most-owned midfielder in FPL.
Reclassified from a forward to a midfielder this season, the Gabon international sits in 38.8 per cent of squads.
And he has two very favourable opening fixtures, with the Gunners facing Fulham and West Ham United in the first two Gameweeks.
Aubameyang's record against such opponents strengthens his appeal as a big captaincy contender.
Sixteen of his 22 goals were scored in meetings with sides in the bottom half of the Premier League table in 2019/20.
Bukayo Saka (£5.5m) and Eddie Nketiah (£6.0m) can provide further options for managers keen to invest in Mikel Arteta's side early on.
Saka supplied the pass for Aubameyang's goal and has provided back-to-back assists in Arsenal's two friendlies.
Nketiah has started both their summer matches, scoring against MK Dons last week.
Encouraging start for Werner
Timo Werner (£9.5m), the most popular forward in FPL, made an immediate impact on his debut for Chelsea.
The German needed less than five minutes to score against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Werner can be found in 42.0 per cent of squads on the back of 28 goals and eight assists in last season's Bundesliga.
And his owners will be confident he can make a strong start to 2020/21 FPL.
He faces Brighton again in Gameweek 1 and also plays West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace in the Blues' first four matches.
But Hakim Ziyech (£8.0m) is a slight doubt for the season opener. The Blues’ new playmaker will be assessed after being forced off with a knee problem on Saturday.
