The Scout is tipping five players to produce big points in Gameweek 1 of Fantasy Premier League.

Jamie Vardy (LEI) £10.0m

A visit to promoted West Bromwich Albion hands last season’s Golden Boot winner the chance to make an immediate mark in 2020/21.

Vardy was the most reliable scorer of goals when facing teams lower down the league last term.

The Leicester City forward netted 18 times against opponents who finished in the bottom 10, more than any other player in FPL.

The underlying statistics shed more light on Vardy’s threat.

His totals of 21 big chances and 29 shots on target both ranked among the top three players in such matches in 2019/20.

Favourable start for Foxes

Leicester, meanwhile, visit The Hawthorns looking to take advantage of the West Brom's poor defensive record.

Slaven Bilic’s side struggled at the back when playing at home in the Championship last term, claiming just five clean sheets in 23 matches.

That looks very encouraging for Vardy, who has a prolific record at West Brom.

Indeed, the Foxes’ frontman has scored in all four of his away meetings with his Gameweek 1 opponents.

Leicester's short-term schedule also raises the appeal of investing in their key players.

They have three home fixtures in four from Gameweek 2 onwards, with Burnley, West Ham United and Aston Villa visiting King Power Stadium.

Vardy can take advantage of those promising match-ups and provide Fantasy managers with goals from the off.
