With his stoppage-time penalty at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, Bruno Fernandes scored one of the latest goals in Premier League history.
Fernandes’s strike came in the 10th minute of stoppage time, on 99 minutes and 45 seconds to be precise.
It is the latest goal scored in the competition by Manchester United, a club renowned for their stoppage-time winners.
It beat by more than two minutes a goal from Jesse Lingard on 97 minutes and 30 seconds for the Red Devils against Leicester City in July this year.
Only two other goals have been scored later in the competition. The latest was in the 12th minute of added time, when Dirk Kuyt equalised from the spot for Liverpool at Arsenal in April 2011.
Juan Mata scored for Chelsea on 100 minutes and three seconds in August 2011.
