The 2020/21 ePremier League champion says he cannot put into words the emotion of winning his first esports trophy with Manchester City.
Shaun 'Shellzz' Springette claimed the title after beating Leeds United's Olle 'Ollelito' Arbin in Friday's thrilling Grand Final, which he won on penalties after the contest ended 6-6 after extra-time.
"To finally be able to call myself a champion, I'm just so happy, I can't describe how I'm feeling right now," Shellzz said.
The No 4 seed on PlayStation 4 heading into the EA SPORTS FIFA 21 competition, Shellzz reached Finals Day thanks to a winning goal by Man City's very own Kevin De Bruyne in Wednesday's quarter-final victory over Leicester City's Cosmin 'NFG Cosmin' Petrescu.
But he had a rival player to thank in the tournament finale, with Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope making a stunning stop in normal time before saving two penalties in the shootout.
"Sometimes you need your luck and I definitely got some in that second leg," he added.
"Pope is going to have a statue outside my club! He saved me!"
