The fourth most-sold player ahead of Double Gameweek 33 (DGW33), Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) made 486,000+ Fantasy Premier League managers regret their decision with his sixth double-figure haul of the season.
To make matters worse, the most-bought player, Bukayo Saka (£10.5m), has so far failed to deliver for the near million managers who brought him in for DGW33.
Mbeumo scored twice and laid on an assist in Brentford's 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion for a huge 18-point return. Across his four seasons in Fantasy, only against Southampton, in Gameweek 20, has he produced a bigger return, racking up 19 points.
It's been an outstanding campaign for Mbeumo and he becomes only the second player to surpass 200 points this season and just the second player to reach 100 points in the calendar year.
Mbeumo is the only member of the five most-sold players to frustrate his sellers.
Newcastle United pair Alexander Isak (£9.5m) and Jacob Murphy (£5.2m) both mustered two-point returns in the defeat at Villa Park, while Justin Kluivert (£6.0m), restored to the AFC Bournemouth starting line-up following a period on the sidelines, could do no better in the goalless draw with Crystal Palace.
Cole Palmer (£10.6m) continues to be sold in droves, since Gameweek 29 more than 3.6m have parted company with last season's top-scoring player in Fantasy.
And they were proved right with Palmer blanking in Chelsea's 2-1 win at Fulham on Sunday, extending his goal drought to 11 appearances.
DGW33 most-sold players
Player | Sold by | Pts |
Palmer | 716,268 | 2 |
---|---|---|
Kluivert | 499,502 | 2 |
Isak | 490,107 | 2 |
Mbeumo | 486,013 | 18 |

Managers flock to Double Gameweek players
Brentford's lack of a Double Gameweek has seen Mbeumo sold by more than 1.5million people over the last four rounds as managers reorganised their squads.
Indeed, all 17 of the most-bought players have two matches in DGW33 and 70 per cent of all transfers made, a total of 8.5m, have been for a Double Gameweek player.
Top of managers' shopping lists was Arsenal's Saka.
It's the third time Saka has been the Gameweek's most-bought player this season and he's yet to produce a return. He added a blank against Ipswich Town on Sunday to his two previous failures, away to Fulham in Gameweek 15 and Everton in Gameweek 31.
In an amazing fact, he was the only member of Arsenal's starting XI at Portman Road to blank in the win.

He will have another opportunity to reward his new owners when the Gunners host Crystal Palace on Wednesday in the final match of the round.
Morgan Rogers (£5.7m) provided instant rewards for his 725,000+ new owners with an assist in Aston Villa's 4-1 win over Newcastle United.
One of the best-value midfielders in Fantasy, Rogers will have the chance to add to his six-point tally when Villa visit Manchester City on Tuesday.
Mixed fortunes for popular City targets
A trio of Man City players complete the top five.
Defender Josko Gvardiol (£6.2m) is the only one to provide any returns so far, picking up his 10th clean sheet of 2024/25 Fantasy in City's 2-0 win at Everton.
Omar Marmoush (£7.7m) blanked for the second time in three outings. The Egypt international has had 19 shots since Gameweek 30, the most of any player, but has scored just two goals in that time.
Snapped up by more than 721,000 managers for City's two matches, they will be hoping for a change of fortune at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
An impressive 12 points at home to Crystal Palace last time out led to over 704,000 adding Kevin De Bruyne (£9.3m) to their squads. However, like Marmoush's new owners, his buyers will be looking for him to make amends in midweek after his first outing of DGW33 resulted in a blank.
