Managers have selected Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) as the top captaincy pick in each of the first two Gameweeks.
But Salah’s head-to-head with Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m) at Anfield could blow the armband race wide open.
Son has the home form to make a major claim for the captaincy.
He produced 10 points against Manchester City in Gameweek 1, his first home match of the season.
Son's goal v Man City
That highlighted the South Korean’s ability to deliver huge hauls when playing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Son’s last eight double-figure returns in Fantasy have all come in home matches.
Indeed, the 29-year-old has produced a double-figure haul in nine of his last 18 home outings.
Son has been Spurs’ main goal threat in the first two Gameweeks, totalling seven shots across their matches against Man City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
There is also a possibility he could retain the lone striker role this weekend if Harry Kane (£12.3m) isn’t yet fit enough to start.
Watford, meanwhile, have been poor in defence since their promotion, conceding twice in each of their first two outings.
With his ability to bring in huge hauls at home, Son can exploit those frailties, making him a key candidate for the Gameweek 3 captaincy.
