The prospect of facing Cristiano Ronaldo would fill most defenders with fear, but thanks to a dominant display by Joao Cancelo, it was Manchester City who took derby honours with a 2-0 victory at Manchester United.
For Alan Shearer, Cancelo was the standout performer at Old Trafford, helping his side nullify the threat of Portugal team-mate Ronaldo. The full-back's early cross was turned into his own net by Eric Bailly before Cancelo produced an assist for Bernado Silva's second.
Cancelo's contribution cemented a place for himself in Hall of Fame inductee Shearer's Matchweek 11 Team of the Week.

Burnley's goalkeeper withstood the Chelsea onslaught with some big saves before they snatched an impressive draw against the leaders.
Chelsea's right-back continues to shine, with a pinpoint cross for Kai Havertz to head in. He looks such a threat and has a huge future ahead of him.
Benjamin White (ARS) ARS 1-0 WAT
White was commanding in defence, building play from the back and not giving the Watford attack much of a sniff. His mazy run was also key to Emile Smith Rowe's goal that sealed the win.
Mohammed Salisu (SOU) SOU 1-0 AVL
Another impressive display from Southampton's centre-back, who has been a revelation this season. He made some crucial challenges and interceptions in the 1-0 home victory over Aston Villa.
Joao Cancelo (MCI) MUN 0-2 MCI
One assist and another wicked cross for Bailly's own goal, the Portuguese is an extraordinary talent and is a key attacking outlet for Man City on that left side.
Mathias Normann (NOR) BRE 1-2 NOR
The midfielder has been a bright spark for Norwich City this season and he inspired a much-needed first victory, a 2-1 win at Brentford, with a superb opening goal.
Cheikhou Kouyate (CRY) CRY 2-0 WOL
Kouyate was a powerhouse in midfield, keeping an in-form Wolves side quiet in their 2-0 success and providing the base for another fine result for Crystal Palace.
Conor Gallagher (CRY) CRY 2-0 WOL
The Chelsea loanee was brilliant for Palace yet again, scoring a great goal to wrap up the win. It's been an outstanding season for the playmaker and there’s plenty more to come.
Bernardo Silva (MCI) MUN 0-2 MCI
Wow! What a performance, what a season, what a player. Silva showed his class with a goal and a brilliant all-round display for the champions against Man Utd in the derby.
Pablo Fornals (WHU) WHU 3-2 LIV
Fornals' corner wreaked havoc for the opener and he scored West Ham's second in a memorable victory over Liverpool. Yet again a key performer for the Hammers.
Adam Armstrong (SOU) SOU 1-0 AVL
Armstrong got Saints up and running on Friday night with a stunning strike and gave the Villa defence a tough time with his tireless work rate.
Manager: David Moyes (WHU) WHU 3-2 LIV
A Moyes masterclass! The Scot is showing just how good a manager he is and is getting the very best out of this fantastic West Ham team. Liverpool's first loss in 25 matches too.
