The landscape changes quickly in Fantasy Premier League, and reacting swiftly to the latest trends can be the difference between a good or a bad season.
Only in September were managers tearing up their teams to own the star trio of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.4m) and Romelu Lukaku (£11.5m).
But with Salah hitting heights not previously seen, combined with Ronaldo and Lukaku faltering, the prospect of the Egyptian being the only premium player surrounded by a strong squad of value picks is growing as each Gameweek passes.
"My main takeaway from the season is you have to think really, really hard before betting against Mo Salah for the captaincy," says FPL expert Pranil Sheth in the video above.
"Most of the playing field is going to be captaining Mo Salah, which means that you can distribute the funds around your squad because you don't necessarily need another premium player in your team."
Target multiple wing-backs
While popular pre-season picks such as Luke Shaw (£5.2m) and Lucas Digne (£5.1m) have endured underwhelming starts to 2021/22 Fantasy, other wing-backs have sprung to prominence.
"I think rampaging wing-backs are back on the menu," says fellow expert Tom Cantle. "The latest is the wing-back triumvirate of Reece James, Trent Alexander-Arnold and [Joao] Cancelo.
"With their unique offering of both defensive and offensive returns, it's hard to overstate what FPL cheat codes wing-backs can be."
