Ollie Watkins (AVL) £7.3m

The Aston Villa star looks set to feature as a centre-forward in Steven Gerrard’s first match as head coach, with Danny Ings (£7.7m) still injured.

Watkins has improved his output recently, with all of his attacking returns this season - two goals and an assist - coming in the last five Gameweeks. An ownership of 2.3 per cent makes him a big differential, with Watkins expected to be a key figure under Gerrard.

Christian Norgaard (BRE) £5.0m

The Brentford midfielder has boasted a major goal threat recently. His 13 shots over the last four Gameweeks have been bettered only by the 16 of Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) in his position in Fantasy.

At a cost of only £5.0m, Norgaard can be a handy bench option over the busy winter schedule.

Adam Armstrong (SOU) £5.9m

A recent return to Southampton's starting XI has revived Armstrong’s prospects in Fantasy. The forward has earned 14 points in his last two matches against Watford and Villa, scoring once and supplying an assist.

Armstrong has produced eight shots in those last two Gameweeks, the second-highest total among all players in Fantasy.

Diogo Jota (LIV) £7.5m

The Portuguese looks set to continue as a “false nine” for Liverpool in the absence of the injured Roberto Firmino (£8.8m). Jota has scored in four of his eight starts this season, averaging 5.5 points per start, only just behind the 5.8 points per start of his significantly more expensive team-mate Sadio Mane (£11.9m).

Jota scored three goals in his meetings with Arsenal last term, earning 18 points.

Joao Cancelo (MCI) £6.5m

Manchester City's full-back is the second top-scoring player in Fantasy on 67 points. Cancelo has already matched his total of four assists from last season and has also earned seven clean sheets.

His 26 shots are more than any other defender in 2021/22 Fantasy, while that tally is also a team-leading total.
