Everton have announced the signing of 20-year-old defender Nathan Patterson from Rangers.
Patterson has agreed a contract until June 2027 and is Everton's second January signing, after left-back Vitalii Mykolenko.
He is an attacking right-back who helped Rangers go unbeaten and win the Scottish Premiership title in his first full season in 2020/21. He was been capped six times by Scotland.
“It is really exciting to come to a club that has huge talent in the team," Patterson told the club's official website. "I am going to work my socks off.
“I want to nail down a starting position and win some trophies to make the fans proud.”
Patterson's first interview
Patterson is hoping to emulate Everton defender Seamus Coleman, the club captain who has racked up 313 Premier League appearances since leaving Irish club Sligo Rovers in 2009.
“I’ve had a good conversation with Seamus," he added. "I am really looking forward to learning from him and working together.
“That is why I am here: to learn and get better as a player and, hopefully, win things and do well for the club. If I am working alongside Seamus that is definitely going to happen.”
