Nick Pope's breathtaking stop for Newcastle United at Crystal Palace has earned the goalkeeper his second Castrol Save of the Month award of 2022/23.
Pope reacted superbly to tip Jean-Philippe Mateta's stinging shot over the crossbar to gain Newcastle a point and extend his run of clean sheets to six Premier League matches.
What was even more impressive about Pope's save is that it came in the 73rd minute with what was Palace's first shot on target, showing what great focus he kept despite much of the match being played at the other end of the pitch.

"As a goalkeeper you try to stay engaged in the game, especially when you don't have much to do," Pope told Newcastle's official website.
"It was a shot out of nowhere and I was fortunate enough to get it over."
As well as being named the best save of January, it has also extended Pope's lead in the race for this season's Castrol Golden Glove award to three clean sheets, and edged him closer to a record held by Petr Cech.
Amazingly, Pope has not conceded a top-flight goal since a 4-1 win at Southampton on 6 November, and can this weekend become the first English goalkeeper in PL history to keep seven straight shutouts.
