Best Brighton midfielders to own for Double GW27

The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their thoughts on which player to captain in Double Gameweek 27 ahead of Saturday's 11:00 GMT deadline.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Under Graham Potter, Brighton & Hove Albion were the Expected Goal (xG) kings, all potential but not enough output. Roberto De Zerbi has come in and unleashed that potential, with attacking threat across their front three and from central midfield.

Kaoru Mitoma (£5.5m) has impressed me so much this season, but in his new advanced role and with penalties in his locker, Alexis Mac Allister (£5.4m) may be the one I go for.

Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)

I usually opt for a Double Gameweek player, but this week I'm going back to a classic pick. Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) starred in Gameweek 26 and his score of 21 points was his third-biggest FPL haul.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@Zophar666)

Brighton have the best underlying numbers since the season resumed, but it is difficult to predict which midfielder will haul, as the points are quite spread across.

This is why I like Ivan Toney (£7.8m) for the captaincy. If Brentford score, he is likely to be involved, while he is a proper talisman.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

Brentford's away form hasn't been great, so I prefer a Brighton midfielder. Mitoma has delivered goals and assists since I bought him, so although I'll probably own a second Brighton midfielder, I'm going for him.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Toney has registered 15 goals and three assists so far this season. These 18 goal involvements are already more than the 17 he got last season. 66 shots, 50 from inside the penalty area and 29 on target are all team leading totals, while his 26 big chances is more than double that of any of his team-mates. Plus he is on free-kicks and penalties. He is the best captain pick.

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

Some of Brighton's attacking numbers have been phenomenal in recent weeks. In the last four Gameweeks, they average a chance every 4.9 minutes, which is better than any other team.

This is an attack I want to trust with captaincy, especially with their Double Gameweek. Which midfielder to pick, however, feels like the million dollar question. Whoever you own out of Solly March (£5.1m), Mitoma or Mac Allister should wear the armband.
