Derby County and Sunderland battled to their second draw in six days in a goalless encounter in the fog at St George's Park in Premier League 2 Division 1.

Last Thursday the sides drew 2-2 in the Premier League International Cup, but this time a string of saves by Rams goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell kept the scoreline blank..

Derby stay bottom of the table. They trail 11th-placed Leicester City by two points and Spurs, one place above the relegation zone, by three, while the Black Cats remain in sixth.

Both teams are next in Premier League Cup action, with Sunderland entertaining Cardiff City at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare ground on Sunday before the Rams facing Manchester City at the City Football Academy on Wednesday.
