Following their outstanding 3-0 quarter-final, first-leg victory, Man City had the chance to extend their lead in Germany when they were awarded a penalty on 35 minutes.
However, Erling Haaland fired his effort over the crossbar for his first spot-kick miss since April 2021.
The striker would make amends on 57 minutes, when a swift counter-attack from the visitors ended with Haaland firing the ball into the top corner for his 48th goal in all competitions this season.

With seven minutes remaining, Bayern equalised as Joshua Kimmich tucked away his penalty.
Man City will hope for positive news on defender Nathan Ake, who had to be replaced in the second half with Aymeric Laporte.
Pep Guardiola’s side are the only Premier League team left in the Champions League, having progressed to the semi-final stage for a third consecutive season, where they will travel to Real Madrid on 9 May before the second leg on 17 May.
The two sides met at the same stage in 2021/22, with Real Madrid winning 6-5 on aggregate, while they also triumphed 1-0 across two semi-final matches in 2015/16.
Man City will now turn their attentions to an FA Cup semi-final meeting with Sheffield United at Wembley on Saturday.
