Early goals from Jerell Sellars (pictured above) and Keinan Davis earned Aston Villa a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Villa Park.
The pair set each other up to strike in the first six minutes and left Villa in sixth position, with teams ranked second to fifth competing in the play-offs for promotion to Division 1.
With two matches remaining, Villa are only a point behind fifth-placed West Ham United, who currently occupy the final play-off position, and two adrift of Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Brighton's hopes are all but over as they trail the Hammers by six points.
