Kept out of the Tottenham Hotspur first XI by Danny Rose (£5.9m) for much of the season, Ben Davies (£4.8m) has taken advantage of his team-mate's injury absence to emerge as a worthy Fantasy Premier League target.

Davies has started all of his side’s five fixtures over the last six Gameweeks, producing two clean sheets and an assist in that spell.

Although Rose is edging closer to a return from injury, Davies still looks poised for further outings.

Spurs face a Gameweek 30 trip to Burnley followed by a visit to Swansea City and a White Hart Lane meeting with Watford

The match against Burnley in particular seems favourable for the attacking prospects of Davies - Sean Dyche’s side have conceded more chances (27) down their right flank than any other team across the previous six Gameweeks.

Since replacing Rose, Davies has provided a key outlet on the left for Spurs, flourishing as a wing-back in Mauricio Pochettino’s 3-4-2-1 set-up.

Over the last six Gameweeks the Welshman ranks joint-third among FPL defenders for chances created.

His total of seven key passes is more than the four made by team-mate Kyle Walker (£6.4m), the most popular FPL defender with 35.7% ownership.

During that time Davies also betters Walker for successful crosses (five to zero), with 38% of Spurs’ chances created down his flank, compared with 30% from Walker’s side.

Pochettino’s side remain a force from the left, even without Rose’s pace and industry.

Davies could also benefit from further clean sheet returns given that only Chelsea have kept more shutouts (13) than Spurs’ 12 this season.

The Gameweek 32 match versus Watford looks profitable, with the Hornets failing to score in five of their last seven away trips.

Currently found in only 1.3% of FPL squads, the cut-price Davies has the form and fixtures to shine as a short-term differential.

He presents an ideal solution for those looking to free up funds when replacing the injured Seamus Coleman (£6.0m), of Everton, particularly if the second Wildcard chip is available to react when a fit-again Rose bids to reclaim a starting role.
