Chelsea have announced the signing of defender Axel Disasi from Monaco.
The 25-year-old France international has agreed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

“Axel has showcased his quality over several seasons in France and that has deservedly led to recognition on the international stage,” co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley told the club’s official website.
“He is ready to take the next step in his career and we are delighted that will be with Chelsea. We welcome him to the club and look forward to him joining up with Mauricio Pochettino and his new team-mates in the days ahead.”

Disasi made his international debut for France at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar during the group stage and also appeared in the final against Argentina, where they lost on a penalty shootout.

He will also be reunited with former Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, who moved to Chelsea in January.
Disasi's arrival will also help Chelsea deal with the loss to injury of his fellow countryman, Wesley Fofana, who has had knee surgery.
Chelsea kick off their 2023/24 Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on Sunday 13 August.
