AFC Bournemouth have signed Alex Scott from Championship side Bristol City, but the midfielder will miss the start of the season with a knee injury.
The 19-year-old joins Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth squad after an impressive 2022/23 campaign in which he was included in the EFL Championship Team of the Season, while being named EFL Championship Young Player of the Season.

“We are delighted to welcome Alex to the club, who is one of the most exciting young players in Europe," AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the club’s official website.
“He’s a player that has vast experience at such a young age with strong technical ability and a really good footballing brain.
“Alex will be an excellent fit in our system, and we’re excited to see him continue to develop under Andoni's management.”
The England Under-20 international has been handed the No 14 shirt.
Bournemouth kick off their campaign against West Ham United on Saturday, but Scott will have to wait to make his Premier League debut.

A Bournemouth statement said: "While in negotiations with Bristol City, we were made aware that Alex had sustained a knee injury during a recent training session. During the medical, scans revealed the injury to be more significant than was initially reported.
"With the recovery process now outlined by our medical team, he will join up with the squad following a period of rehabilitation."
