Manchester City are showing no signs of slowing down following their historic Treble-winning season as they begin the 2023/24 campaign with six consecutive wins, after a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday. But where does such a perfect start rank in Premier League history and for the club themselves?
This is the second time Man City have won their opening six matches of a Premier League campaign, doing the same in the 2016/17 season under Pep Guardiola.
They have yet to win their first seven league matches in a season, with only two teams achieving this feat.
Chelsea hold the record for the best start ever to a Premier League season, winning their first nine matches in 2005/06. This run, managed by Jose Mourinho, included victories over Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool. It was brought to an end following a 1-1 draw against Everton.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are the only other team to pass the six-win mark at the start of a season, taking all 24 points from their opening eight matches in their 2019/20 title-winning campaign.
