The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts share their thoughts on what to do with Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier (£7.0m), after he delivered zero points in Gameweek 10 and ahead of a difficult run of fixtures.

What the FPL experts say
Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral

I'm now open to losing Trippier to unlock funds, given the fixtures. As a non-owner of Son Heung-min (£9.6m) and Bukayo Saka (£8.6m), Trippier might need to go in order to accommodate those two.

I currently own Trippier but am looking to downgrade him this week.

Despite some excellent performances, he is just too expensive. Downgrading him will allow me more money to invest in midfield, where I am looking at fitting in the likes of Moussa Diaby (£6.8m), who has started excellently for Aston Villa.

I think with tougher fixtures, no single player is essential. We have seen this with Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) early in the season and Erling Haaland (£14.0m) in Gameweeks 8 and 9.

When Salah is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, money will be spread again and Trippier will surely come back into our teams, but for now he's a sell.

Hold or sell? Sell

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

I sold Trippier on my Gameweek 10 Wildcard after evaluating his fixture run.

He's been the best defender in the game for the last month or so but with good value options like Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.6m) and Jarrad Branthwaite (£4.0m), we can invest more money in our attacks and save at the back.

Hold or sell? Sell

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

I think Trippier is don't buy, don't sell. As a non-owner I fear him each week, but the fixtures don't justify prioritising him.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Trippier has been such a good option in recent weeks that he'd be a reluctant sell.

Newcastle looked a little leggy against Wolves though, so maybe it's time to drop him down to a Gabriel (£4.8m) or Tsimikas, freeing up funds to invest in attack, with many managers moving to a 3-4-3 formation.

Hold or sell? Sell

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

I haven't owned Trippier so far this season, so watching him rack up so many clean sheets and attacking returns in recent weeks has not been enjoyable.

However, with the flurry of forwards and midfielders that I want to own, they were a bigger priority, and I had Dan Burn (£4.7m) as a compromise.

I am now considering selling Burn, given clean sheets no longer look likely, and with great fixtures for the likes of Crystal Palace and Arsenal over the coming period, I will target defenders from those clubs instead.

Hold or sell? Sell

Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)

I have not owned Trippier this season as I wrongly felt the money was better spent elsewhere. However, I would advise selling for now given Newcastle seem to be struggling with injuries and fatigue.
