Erling Haaland has broken yet another Premier League record, becoming the quickest player in the competition's history to score 50 goals.

The Manchester City forward scored the opener in Saturday's match versus Liverpool, his first against the Reds. It came in his 48th appearance, the fewest matches needed to reach a half-century.

It was only a matter of time for Haaland to reach that milestone figure as he eclipsed the record held by Andrew Cole, who took 65 matches to reach 50 goals.

How Haaland raced to 50 goals

Haaland's record-breaking debut season in English football ended with 36 goals in 35 matches, the most goals ever in a single Premier League campaign, and he again tops the scoring chart this season, netting 14 times in 13 outings.

Of the 50 goals he has scored in the Premier League, 48 have come from inside the box, and 33 have come from his trusty left foot.

Right-footed 6

With Haaland breaking record after record, he will now have his sights on reaching 100 Premier League goals.

And at the rate he is going, the Norwegian would achieve it in his 96th match. That would be 28 matches fewer than what it took Alan Shearer, the current record holder, to reach a century.
