Alejandro Garnacho believes his acrobatic wonder strike against Everton is already one of the goals of the season, despite it only being November.

With only three minutes on the clock at Goodison Park, the 19-year-old produced a moment of magic for his first Premier League goal of the season, as he opened the scoring for Manchester United with an incredible bicycle kick, setting them on the way to a 3-0 win.

“I can't believe it to be honest," Garnacho told Sky Sports. "I didn’t see how I scored. I just listened to the crowd and said, 'Oh my god'.

“It’s still November, but probably one of the goals of the season. One of the best goals I’ve scored, I’m very happy.”

Garnacho’s brilliance evoked memories of Wayne Rooney’s iconic winner against Manchester City back in February 2011 and fans will hope he can go on to have a similar career at Old Trafford.

“I say it is very much like Rooney's goal. I don't know which one is better,” Garnacho added. “Both are incredible goals.”

Bruno Fernandes believes a big future does indeed lie ahead for Garnacho and says that he will continue to demand more from the talented Argentine in order for him to fulfil his potential.

“Ah, so-so! I'll give him a good note just for the goal. But that's because he knows I have big expectations for him,” the Man Utd captain said.

“He's not a great player yet, but he has a great future ahead. We expect a lot from him. He knows that, even more from me - I'll always be behind him asking for more. Amazing goal though, not for everyone.”
