Ten key questions for Matchweek 16

Manchester City have been dealt a blow with the news that Erling Haaland has been ruled out of Sunday's trip to Luton Town with an injury in his feet.

Speaking to Sky Sports pre-match, Pep Guardiola specified what type of injury Haaland has and said he is unsure for how long he will be out for.

"Bone stress reaction in his feet," Guardiola said.

"After the last game against Aston Villa he felt like this and he cannot play."

Asked if it looks bad, Guardiola replied: "I don’t know. Week by week, day by day we will see what happens."

Haaland is the Premier League's top scorer with 14 goals and had not missed a match in the competition this season.

Guardiola's side travel to Kenilworth Road on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa in midweek and have not won in their last four Premier League matches.

Haaland has missed three Premier League matches since joining City in the summer of 2022, with his team-mates winning two (1-0 at Leicester City in October 2022 and 4-1 at home to Liverpool in April 2023) and losing one (1-0 at Brentford on the final day of the 2022/23 season).

What does this mean for FPL managers?

Haaland is the most-popular player in Fantasy Premier League, with over 84 per cent of managers owning him.

Some 8.8million FPL managers had captained him, hoping for a double points haul at Kenilworth Road. A further 96,601 managers had played their Triple Captain chip on the Norwegian.

Haaland's owners will be hoping he is fit to play next Saturday at home to Crystal Palace.
