Pep Guardiola expects Erling Haaland to return to training on Thursday after confirming the Manchester City striker will miss a second successive match with a foot injury.
On Sunday Haaland was not involved in City's 2-1 win against Luton Town and he has been ruled out of tomorrow's UEFA Champions League tie at Crevna zvezda, also known as Red Star Belgrade.
"He’ll be back I think Thursday," Guardiola said in his press conference ahead of Wednesday night's tie. "We’ll see how he feels.”
Guardiola said he will provide a further update on Friday, 24 hours before City's Premier League match at home to Crystal Palace.
“I don’t know [if he will play v Palace] right now," he added. "Next press conference I could be more precise about his conditions.”
After facing Palace, City travel to Saudi Arabia to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup. Their next Premier League match after that will be on Wednesday 27 December with a trip to Everton.
