Chris Wood’s strike in extra-time helped Nottingham Forest see off a spirited Blackpool to secure a 3-2 victory in their FA Cup third-round replay.

Andrew Omobamidele put the Premier League side ahead 10 minutes into his debut for the club and Danilo’s strike a minute after the break appeared to have put Forest in complete control of the match.

However, Albie Morgan pulled one back with a brilliant strike from 25 yards before substitute Kyle Joseph headed in from close range in the 78th minute to give the League One side a deserved equaliser.

Blackpool almost went in front, but Orel Mangala did well to get back and clear off the line after Karamoko Dembele had rounded the goalkeeper.

With 110 minutes on the clock, Forest netted what would prove to be the decisive goal as Ryan Yates' low cross was turned in by Wood to set up a fourth round meeting at Bristol City on Friday 26 January.

Gomes sends Everton through

A superb free-kick from Andre Gomes earned Everton a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in their FA Cup third-round replay at Goodison Park.

After a first half of few clear-cut chances, the midfielder curled his effort in via a post three minutes before the break to set up a fourth-round home meeting with fellow Premier League side Luton Town.

It was Everton's first goal direct from a free-kick for 196 matches, since former defender Lucas Digne scored one in an EFL Cup tie against Lincoln City back in August 2019.

Palace almost equalised soon after, but Joao Virginia made a superb save to keep out Tyrick Mitchell.

Everton controlled much of the second half without truly threatening to score a second, while Palace struggled to carve out many opportunities for an equaliser.

It is Everton’s second win over Palace this season, having edged a five-goal thriller at Selhurst Park back in November.
