Managers in Fantasy Premier League look set to rush to Erling Haaland (£13.9m) after the Manchester City forward was passed fit to face Burnley by Pep Guardiola on Tuesday afternoon.
Having missed the last five Gameweeks through a foot injury, there’s every chance the Norwegian could feature against at home to the Clarets.
Despite the possibility of a substitute appearance, Haaland’s potential for huge hauls can make him worth the risk. He scored twice and collected 13 points in his previous meeting with Burnley in Gameweek 1.
Haaland’s return comes on the back of Kevin De Bruyne’s (£10.6m) match-winning cameo against Newcastle United in the previous Gameweek.
The Belgian needed only 21 minutes as a second-half substitute to produce a goal, an assist and 12 FPL points in the 3-2 win at St James’ Park.
That display has earned De Bruyne an incredible 1.4million transfers in ahead of Tuesday’s 18:00 GMT deadline.
Both Haaland and De Bruyne now look set to play a huge part in managers’ plans, with Man City, along with Brentford, one of only two sides to have a Double Gameweek 25.
Crucially, they play at home on both occasions, facing Chelsea before hosting Brentford.
Haaland and De Bruyne’s appeal is further heightened by the progress of Chelsea and Liverpool to the EFL Cup Final, with both clubs, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Luton Town, set for a Blank Gameweek 26.
Essentially, that means Man City’s key assets will have three matches at a point where their fellow big-hitters, Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and Son Heung-Min (£9.7m), have just one match.
That shows why pairing up Haaland and De Bruyne can prove a powerful tactic over the coming period, with the Norwegian’s return to action set to make him a very popular option for the Triple Captain chip in Double Gameweek 25.
