“I’m so grateful and honoured to be given this opportunity to do so. Now it’s down to me to show what I’m about and why I deserve to be here.” Rogers told the club's official website.
“I had a conversation with him [manager Unai Emery] briefly, getting to know him and what he’s about, his goals and the way he is as a manager,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working with him because I feel like he can get the best out of me.”
Rogers joined Championship side Middlesbrough from Manchester City last summer and has seven goals and eight assists this season.
He started his career at West Bromwich Albion and is a regular for England at youth level.
Rogers becomes Villa’s first senior signing of the January transfer window.
Villa fans could see their new signing in action at Sheffield United on Saturday.
