The Scout highlights the top performing players in Fantasy Premier League after the first 29 Gameweeks of 2023/24.

The team lines up in a 3-5-2 formation, as eight clubs are represented with Arsenal and Manchester City the only sides to have more than a single player included.

FPL Team of the Season so far
Bernd Leno (Fulham) £4.8m, 105 points

The Fulham No 1’s many routes to returns have helped him to joint-top spot for points among goalkeepers with Manchester United’s Andre Onana (£4.8m). Leno has combined eight clean sheets with 13 bonus points and gets the nod over Onana as he has risen in price by £0.3m since the start of the season, providing more value than Onana, who has dropped by £0.2m.

Ben White (Arsenal) £5.7m, 119 points

Back-to-back double-figure returns have taken the Arsenal right-back to the top of the defender standings on 119 points. White has mirrored his attacking output of two goals and five assists from 2022/23, while also collecting 10 clean sheets.

William Saliba (Arsenal) £5.8m, 112 points

The Gunners centre-back has risen £0.8m in price since the start of the season, joint-top with Pedro Porro (£5.8m) among defenders. Saliba’s output of two goals, an assist and 11 clean sheets is just one clean sheet shy of his total from the previous campaign.

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) £6.7m, 108 points

Newcastle United’s right-back has scored once and supplied 10 assists, with his 11 attacking returns more than any other defender in Fantasy. Trippier’s 63 key passes and 13 big chances created both rank among the top five players across all positions this season.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) £9.1m, 178 points

13 goals and 10 assists have taken the Arsenal winger to the top of the midfielder standings on 178 points. Saka's average of 6.6 points per match (ppm) is markedly better than his 5.3ppm from last season, when he recorded his career-high 202 points.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £13.0m, 168 points

The Egyptian has 15 goals and nine assists in just 22 appearances, with his average of 7.6ppm more than any other player in Fantasy. Salah has also recorded a league-high eight double-figure hauls in Liverpool’s final season under Jurgen Klopp.

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £10.1m, 168 points

Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean has rediscovered his best form in his first campaign under Ange Postecoglou. Son has 14 goals and eight assists to his name, already surpassing his total of 152 points from the previous campaign.

Phil Foden (Man City) £8.1m, 160 points

Man City’s England star has mirrored his 11 goals and seven assists from 2022/23 to claim his career-high score of 160 points. Foden’s improved displays means he has now recorded his best-ever Fantasy score in seven successive seasons.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) £8.0m, 149 points

A move up front has helped the West Ham United attacker enjoy his most prolific goal scoring season in Fantasy. Bowen’s 14 goals are more than twice his total of six from the previous campaign, with a further three assists helping him to 149 points.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) £9.0m, 187 points

Aston Villa’s forward is the leading scorer in 2023/24 Fantasy thanks to his all-round style of play. Watkins has been involved in a league-high 31 goals, scoring 16 and assisting a further 15 on his way to 187 points.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.3m, 154 points

The Norwegian has averaged 6.7ppm to the 6.4ppm of Watkins, producing 18 goals and seven assists in 23 outings. Haaland’s 91 shots, 84 shots in the box, 40 big chances and 42 shots on target are all more than any other player in Fantasy this season.
