The 25-year-old has made close to 200 appearances in the German Bundesliga 1 and 2. Ahead of the Bundesliga’s final fixtures this weekend, no player had created more chances than his 95.
"He offers something different to our existing midfielders, as an attacking midfielder in a more advanced position, operating behind the forward line,” Brighton manager Chris Hughton told seagulls.co.uk. “He will give us a different and new option going into the new season."
The club have also offered new contracts to four players who are out of contract this summer: Steve Sidwell, David Stockdale, Gaetan Bong and Niki Maenpaa.
