Harry Maguire’s (£4.2m) potential at both ends of the pitch earns the Manchester United defender a place in the best XI for Double Gameweek 35 (DGW35) of Fantasy Premier League.

The centre-back has averaged 4.9 points per start at Old Trafford this season, combining two goals and three assists with two clean sheets.

Maguire faces Burnley on the back of a 12-point haul at home to Sheffield United in midweek, his best score of the campaign.

He takes his place in a 3-4-3 formation, with Cole Palmer (£6.2m) handed the armband and Son Heung-min (£9.8m) named vice-captain.

FPL DGW35 Scout Selection
Djordje Petrovic (Chelsea) £4.6m

Although a clean sheet against Aston Villa or Tottenham Hotspur seems unlikely, the Chelsea goalkeeper at least offers the prospect of save points. Petrovic has almost averaged one save point per match since making his debut, collecting 15 of them in 16 appearances.

Pedro Porro (Spurs) £5.8m

A goal and eight assists highlight the attacking potential offered by the full-back for Spurs' encounters with Arsenal and Chelsea. Porro’s total of 42 shots this season is more than any other defender in Fantasy, while his 45 key passes place fifth.

Fabian Schar (Newcastle) £5.7m

Newcastle United’s centre-back is the most-bought defender in the Gameweek, earning more than 194,000 new owners for his home encounter with Sheff Utd. Schar has delivered hauls of 12 and 13 points over his previous four outings at St James’ Park, delivering a goal, an assist, two clean sheets and four bonus points.

Harry Maguire (Man Utd) £4.2m

A big threat at set-pieces, Maguire’s aerial ability was evident in midweek when he scored Man Utd’s first goal in their 4-2 win over Sheff Utd. Opponents Burnley have conceded 101 headed shots in 2023/24, the second-worst record in the league.

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £9.8m

The South Korean was Spurs’ top-scoring player in Fantasy over their last six matches, producing two goals, three assists and 37 points. Son’s potential for huge returns makes him the likeliest to outperform Palmer for the armband in DGW35.

Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) £8.4m

Man Utd playmaker Fernandes faces Burnley on the back of his two best scores of the season. He totalled four goals and an assist over his encounters with AFC Bournemouth and Sheff Utd, collecting hauls of 15 and 18 points respectively.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £6.2m

Ten goals, three assists and 84 points in his last six matches highlight the incredible form of Chelsea’s Castrol Golden Boot contender. If he recovers from the illness that forced him to miss out against Arsenal in midweek, Palmer looks set to be the runaway captaincy favourite for DGW35.

Brennan Johnson (Spurs) £5.8m

Winger Johnson has started five of Spurs’ last six matches, combining two goals with two assists to earn 30 points. Johnson has been supplied with seven big chances in his previous six matches, placing him fourth among all players in Fantasy.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) £8.1m

Newcastle's forward is the most-bought player in DGW35, with a home fixture against Sheff Utd. Over 359,000 have rushed to Isak, who has scored in each of his last six matches at St James’ Park, amassing 56 points with eight goals and an assist.

Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) £6.8m

Three goals and three assists in his previous eight outings suggests the Chelsea striker could be worth the investment for their DGW35. Jackson’s five big chances and seven shots on target in the Blues’ last six matches were each bettered only by Palmer, highlighting his importance to their attack.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) £5.1m

One of the big heroes of Double Gameweek 34, after scoring four goals and supplying an assist to pick up 29 points, Crystal Palace's Mateta has a trip to Fulham this weekend. The Frenchman has totalled 68 points since the arrival of Oliver Glasner as head coach, just one point behind Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) at the summit for forwards.
