FPL expert: How to approach Gameweek 36 of Fantasy Challenge

The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts offer their advice on how to use your transfers ahead of Double Gameweek 37 (DGW37), when six teams will play twice.

Holly Shand (@HollyShand)

Looking at the remaining fixtures, I think Manchester City, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United remain important clubs to target given their Doubles. I am currently tripled up on three of these sides, and will continue to prioritise them ahead of Arsenal, who have one less fixture over the final three Gameweeks.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)

There's a great pool of teams to target for DGW37. Man City, Newcastle, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs all have something to play for, but I would stay clear of Brighton. Arsenal's defence and attacking assets should not be ignored. They're delivering points at both ends of the pitch and could be differentials, with everyone loading up on the teams who have the Double Gameweek.

Ahead of my Bench Boost in DGW37, I'm planning for a mix of both Double and single Gameweek players. For example, while Jordan Pickford (£4.8m) only plays once, I prefer his chances of a clean sheet against Sheffield United to any of those who have two fixtures. Of the teams playing twice, the Man City, Spurs and Newcastle attacks would be my biggest targets, plus Chelsea's Cole Palmer (£6.2m). I'm hoping to roll my transfer in Gameweek 36 so that I have two ahead of the Double Gameweek. However, my defence is full of flags with Fabian Schar (£5.7m), Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.8m) and Malo Gusto (£4.3m), so I might need to make an early change ahead of this weekend's matches.

I'd planned to have a team of 15 players who all have a pair of fixtures in DGW37, but those plans have been altered because of injuries. The teams to target would still be those with Doubles - Newcastle, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd in particular. I would be tempted to roll your transfer this week so you have two for DGW37, to allow for any more unexpected injuries. For single Gameweek players, many will still have Arsenal players going into DGW37 due to their sensational form. Players such as Jarrad Branthwaite (£4.4m) from Everton would also be a good pick due to their defensive form and the easy fixture against Sheff Utd.

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

We can often focus too much on a Double Gameweek. But in this instance, DGW37 presents some excellent opportunities for those who are recruiting attackers, and Newcastle and Man City in particular should be top of your wish-list.

Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)

I will always recommend teams with a Double Gameweek, particularly when it's so close to the end of the season. Three matches v two in the final weeks is a massive boost to potential points. The only team I would look at outside of that is Arsenal, given their form both offensively and defensively.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Overlook Arsenal at your peril. I took out Bukayo Saka (£9.0m) on my Wildcard and immediately had FPL regret in Gameweek 35, despite him only having one fixture in DGW37. Having at least one of their defenders and an attacker looks a good bet. Elsewhere, Newcastle look the pick of the DGW37 teams, with Alexander Isak (£8.3m) in great form, and perhaps even worthy of the captain's armband.
