Josko Gvardiol (£5.1m) earns his third successive appearance in the Scout Selection for the final Gameweek of 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League.

The Croat is among three Manchester City players picked as Pep Guardiola’s side look to clinch the title with a home win over West Ham United.

Gvardiol is joined by team-mates Phil Foden (£8.5m) and Erling Haaland (£14.2m) in a 3-5-2 formation, with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer (£6.3m) handed the armband and Haaland named vice-captain.

FPL GW38 Scout Selection
Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) £4.4m

The Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper offers many routes to returns at home to Manchester United. Verbruggen has combined a clean sheet with three save points and one bonus point over his last three appearances.

Gabriel (Arsenal) £5.4m

The centre-back offers the best route into Arsenal’s resilient rearguard at home to Everton due to his aerial threat at free-kicks and corners. Gabriel’s totals of 28 shots at set-pieces and 24 headed shots place third and second respectively among defenders in 2023/24 Fantasy.

Josko Gvardiol (Man City) £5.1m

The Croat has produced all his attacking returns this season – four goals and two assists – across his last six matches. Combined with four clean sheets, Gvardiol has amassed a league-high 66 points from Gameweek 33 onwards.

Malo Gusto (Chelsea) £4.3m

Gusto supplied his sixth assist of the campaign to collect 12 points against Brighton in midweek. Chelsea, meanwhile, host Bournemouth in improving home form, having claimed a clean sheet in each of their last three league matches at Stamford Bridge.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £13.4m

The Egyptian’s form at Anfield can ensure Jurgen Klopp gets a winning send-off when Liverpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. Salah’s average of 8.4 points per home start ranks second among all regular starters in 2023/24 Fantasy and shows why he must be included in any armband conversation.

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £10.0m

A visit to Sheffield United not only gives the Spurs star the chance to atone for his pair of blanks in Double Gameweek 37 (DGW37), it also lifts Son’s prospects as a final-day captaincy contender. The Blades have allowed 25 double-figure hauls at home this season, at least five more than any other side.

Phil Foden (Man City) £8.5m

The Man City star’s total of 118 points in home matches places joint-third with Salah this season, and is superior to the 114 of Haaland. Foden has amassed 43 of those points across his last four outings at the Etihad Stadium alone, scoring five goals and supplying an assist in those encounters.

Kai Havertz (Arsenal) £7.5m

Arsenal’s German enters a home meeting with Everton on the back of three goals and three assists over his last four matches. Havertz collected 38 points over that period and produced attacking returns on each occasion.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £6.3m

The midfielder has blanked only once in his 12 home starts for Chelsea in his breakout Fantasy campaign. In the 11 matches in which he has scored or assisted at Stamford Bridge, Palmer has averaged an incredible 12 points per match (ppm), which earns him the armband over Haaland.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.2m

Six goals over his last three outings suggests the Norwegian is back to his very best as Man City look to clinch the title. Haaland delivered his season-high 21 points in his last home match and, added to his huge 72 per cent ownership, will surely be the most-picked captain of the Gameweek.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) £5.0m

A visit from Aston Villa hands the Crystal Palace forward the chance to extend his flawless home record under new head coach Oliver Glasner. Mateta has scored in all six of his Selhurst Park appearances for the Austrian, amassing 54 points thanks to eight goals and an assist.
