Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Eric da Silva Moreira from German club St. Pauli.

Moreira has signed a four-year deal and is Nott'm Forest's second signing of the summer transfer window. He follows Marko Stamenic, who joined from Red Star Belgrade but has gone to Olympiacos on loan.

“I’ve heard a lot about the Premier League and a lot about many clubs, so I’m very happy to be at Nottingham Forest, especially at a club that has a lot of tradition just like my old club," Moreira told Forest's official website.

“Me and my family are really happy about this new challenge and I can’t wait to get started and get to know the city, the people and everything about the club.

“I’m a really fast player who likes to go 1v1 both offensively and defensively. I trained as an attacker until I was 16 and then I was put at full-back, so now I’m defensive and offensive as well.”

Who is Moreira?

Moreira is an 18-year-old right-back who can also play as a winger.

A St. Pauli academy graduate, he had been at the club since 2015 and made his debut last season, making one league appearance for the team that won promotion to the Bundesliga under manager Fabian Hurzeler, who has this summer joined Brighton & Hove Albion

Last season he also made 10 appearances, producing one goal and one assist, in the Regionalliga Nord for St. Pauli II.

He has been capped 35 times for Germany at youth level, scoring three goals in 25 matches for his nation's Under-17s. In 2023 he won both the UEFA European Under-17 Championship and FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
