Premier League clubs have started to return to training to begin their preparations for the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season, kicking off on Friday 16 August.

Pre-season friendlies have already begun, and here is a first glimpse of some of the stars of the competition getting ready for the new campaign.

Ben White, Jurrien Timber and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard are all hard at work as the Gunners aim to go one better this season and try to win a first league title since 2004.

Ahead of their first top-flight season in 22 years, Ipswich Town players returned to training, including Omari Hutchinson, who signed for a club-record fee from Chelsea after spending 2023/24 on loan with the Tractor Boys.

Southampton are also looking forward to their Premier League return following a one-season absence and Adam Lallana is all smiles as he is put through his paces at their Staplewood training ground, having rejoined the club where he began his career.

Brentford were among the first clubs to report back for training on 26 June, and there's a friendly handshake between Kevin Schade and Vitaly Janelt as they arrive for for the first day of pre-season.

AFC Bournemouth's players are straight back to work, with Adam Smith and star striker Dominic Solanke battling to the finish line following a gruelling endurance run.
