Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Jaden Philogene from Hull City, less than a year after leaving the club.
The 22-year-old becomes Villa's seventh signing of the summer following the arrivals of Ian Maatsen, Enzo Barrenechea, Samuel Iling-Junior, Ross Barkley, Lewis Dobbin and Cameron Archer.

'Emery said I am going to get chances'
“Unai [Emery] spoke to me face-to-face and we had a very good conversation about my playing time,” Philogene told Villa's official website.
“He said I did well when I was here in pre-season last year and that I’m going to get chances this time. It also depends on me and how I play.
“It’s the latest chapter in my Villa journey and hopefully I can play my best, get game time and do it in front of the fans.
“What I did at Hull, I want to do the same things at Villa Park; make the fans aware of my skills and score goals.”
Who is Jaden Philogene?
Born on 8 February 2002 in London, England, Philogene's career in football started with Villa in 2018, and he worked his way up through the academy ranks.
Aged 19 years and 11 days, Philogene was handed his Premier League debut by Dean Smith at Tottenham Hotspur in May 2021, coming on in the final moments of a 2-1 win.
This was one of three top-flight appearances Philogene made for Villa. In total he featured six times across all competitions.
Philogene then had loan spells with Stoke City and Cardiff City, before he returned to Villa ahead of the 2023/24 season.
He shone during the Premier League’s Summer Series and appeared once in the league before moving to Hull in September 2023.
During his one-season stay with Hull, Philogene scored 12 goals and provided six assists as the club finished seventh, narrowly missing out on a place in the playoffs.
One of the Championship’s star performers, Philogene displayed moments of brilliance throughout the season, including an extraordinary "rabona" goal to equalise against Rotherham before Hull went on to claim a 2-1 victory.
