With the score at 1-1, Man Utd went on a breakaway in the 70th minute and a cross found substitute Alejandro Garnacho at the far post.
The winger shot towards the undefended goal but, unfortunately for the Argentinian, his fellow substitute Joshua Zirkzee had slid towards the goal going for the initial cross.
Zirkzee was unable to avoid the shot by Garnacho from hitting him before going in.
As the Dutchman was in an offside position when Garnacho shot the VAR overturned the award of a goal.
Things got worse for United as Joao Pedro struck in stoppage time to confine Man Utd to defeat.
