Liverpool have made their second signing of the summer transfer window and of the Arne Slot era, bringing in winger Federico Chiesa from Juventus on a long-term deal, subject to international clearance.
The 26-year-old joins days after Giorgi Mamardashvili became Slot's first signing, with the Georgian goalkeeper moving to Anfield from Valencia ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Chiesa will wear the No 14 shirt for Liverpool and becomes only the seventh Italian player to join the club.

What did he say?
“I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player," Chiesa told the official club website. "When [sporting director] Richard Hughes called me and he said, 'Do you want to join Liverpool?' – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans.
“So, I'm so happy and I can't wait to get started.”
Who is Federico Chiesa?
Chiesa was born on 25 October 1997 in Genova, Italy. He began his career for Fiorentina, where he featured 153 times, scoring 34 goals and recording 26 assists.
He joined Juventus from Fiorentina initially on loan in 2020, producing an impressive eight goals and eight assists in 30 appearances.
Chiesa continued his fine form on the international stage, starring for Italy during their title-winning UEFA EURO 2020 campaign.
In total he has been capped 51 times and scored seven goals.

During his time with Juventus, Chiesa was unfortunate with injuries, including a cruciate ligament tear in 2022, which ruled him out for nine months.
However, the winger featured in 37 matches last season, registering 10 goals and three assists. He makes the switch to Merseyside after 131 matches and 32 goals for Juventus.

Where he will fit in?
Chiesa is primarily a right-winger but has frequently operated on the left and just behind the forward as a second striker.
He will bolster a Liverpool attack that features Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
The Italian also possesses pace and dribbling ability that allows him to go both inside and out to beat his man, in addition to a willingness to shoot from distance.
When could he make his debut?
Liverpool have won both of their Premier League matches under new boss Slot, and travel to Manchester United on Sunday for their next fixture.
