More than 1.3million Fantasy Premier League managers endured a frustrating day as the most-bought player for Gameweek 6, Luis Diaz (£8.0m), blanked.
It's the third time this season that the No 1 transfer target has failed to produce a goal or assist.
Diaz had been in outstanding form, recording three double-figure hauls and six attacking returns over the opening five Gameweeks.
But that form deserted him as he mustered just a single shot in Liverpool's 2-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
To make matters worse, his team-mates Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) and Diogo Jota (£7.5m), who were the two most-sold midfielders for Gameweek 6, BOTH produced attacking returns.
Jota supplied two assists to earn seven points, while Salah converted a penalty to claim maximum bonus for a 10-point haul.
The second-most recruited player fared slightly better.
Mbeumo provides immediate rewards
Bryan Mbeumo (£7.3m) scored for the third successive home match to take him up to five goals for the campaign.
His total of 43 points represents his best tally after six Gameweeks across his four seasons in Fantasy, and places him fourth in the midfielder standing for 2024/25.
But there was disappointment, too, for those who snapped up Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.1m). The in-demand Brazilian had scored in back-to-back matches and kept three clean sheets in five outings, prompting over a million managers to buy him.
However, he returned just a solitary point in Arsenal's 4-2 win over Leicester City.
Many had used their Wildcard to load up on Mikel Arteta's side for an appealing run of matches, and Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) also found himself among the top recruits.
Unusually, Saka picked up maximum bonus despite not registering a goal or assist, emulating Jeremy Doku's (£6.4m) feat from last season. The England international created eight chances, including four big chances, helping him profit in the Bonus Points System (BPS).
Completing the top five transfers in, Nicolas Jackson (£7.8m) rewarded his 950,000+ new owners with a five-point return.
Jackson supplied the assist for Chelsea's opening goal in their 4-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Joining Salah and Jota among the most-sold players were injured duo Joao Pedro (£5.6m) and Alexander Isak (£8.3m), who both missed Gameweek 6.
Four blanks in five appearances had prompted over 500,000 to part company with Eberechi Eze (£6.9m), despite some promising underlying stats.
Eze once again had chances to score, registering a match-high five shots as Crystal Palace lost 2-1 at Everton, but his sellers had no cause for regret as he failed to convert any of those opportunities.
