The Premier League, European and EFL Cup action continues, while the September award nominees are announced, ahead of the season’s second international break.

Tuesday

After both drawing their opening encounters in the new expanded league phase of the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal and Manchester City are back in action in Europe’s leading competition.

Mikel Arteta’s side host reigning French champions and last season’s Champions League semi-finalists Paris Saint-Germain at Emirates Stadium at 20:00 BST in the first meeting between the two sides since a 2-2 draw almost eight years ago.

Man City make the trip to Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava. The hosts are making their debut in the main stage of the Champions League and were soundly beaten 5-1 by Celtic in their opening match.

They are not the only Premier League sides in action, with Newcastle United welcoming AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup third round at 19:45 BST.

Three Under-21 teams will feature in the Premier League International Cup at 19:00 BST, as Chelsea welcome Anderlecht, Manchester United host Hertha Berlin and Sunderland take on Lyon.

Wednesday

The Champions League action continues, with two more English sides welcoming European visitors.

Aston Villa made light work of beating Young Boys in their first match, but face a much tougher task against six-time European champions Bayern Munich at 20:00 BST. The Germans beat Dinamo Zagreb by an astonishing 9-2 scoreline in their first Champions League outing of the season.

Liverpool marked their Champions League return with a 3-1 win over AC Milan. The Premier League leaders host fellow Italians Bologna at Anfield at 20:00 BST.

Meanwhile, West Ham’s Under-21s welcome Spanish club Athletic in the Premier League International Cup at 19:00 BST.

Thursday

September’s Premier League monthly awards shortlists will be announced throughout the day, starting with the nominees for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month at 11:00 BST.

Those in with a chance of being named Barclays Manager of the Month will be revealed at 12:00 BST, Guinness Goal of the Month at 13:00 BST and Save of the Month at 14:00 BST.

A number of Premier League managers will give team news and fitness updates at their pre-match press conferences ahead of the weekend’s domestic action.

There is Premier League representation in the UEFA Europa League, where Tottenham Hotspur travel to Hungarian side Ferencvaros at 17:45 BST. Spurs have scored three goals in each of their last three matches in all competitions, including their Europa League opener against Qarabag.

Man Utd visit Porto at 20:00 BST, with Erik ten Hag’s side winless in their last three matches in all competitions.

The first round of fixtures in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League sees Chelsea host Gent. The Belgian club reached the first Conference League knockout stage last season.

Friday

The remaining Premier League managers will speak to the media before their weekend fixtures.

A local derby between Fulham and Chelsea is the pick of five Premier League 2 matches kicking off at 19:00 BST.

Saturday

The Fantasy Premier League deadline for Gameweek 7 is at 11:00 BST.

The first of seven Premier League matches sees league leaders Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace in the early kick-off at 12:30 BST.

Arne Slot’s side have the chance to briefly stretch their advantage at the summit to four points, while struggling Palace are still seeking their first league win of the season.

Liverpool’s main title rivals, Arsenal and Man City, both have home matches at 15:00 BST.

Pep Guardiola’s team host Fulham, who are unbeaten since the opening day of the season, while Arsenal take on promoted Southampton in a fascinating day at the top of the table.

Everton claimed their first league victory of the campaign last weekend and will look to maintain that form when they welcome Newcastle in the late match at 17:30 BST. Eddie Howe’s side put in an excellent performance in their 1-1 draw against champions Man City.

Meanwhile, PL2 leaders West Ham travel to Man City in one of four Premier League 2 matches throughout the day.

Sunday

The day’s Premier League action begins with Man Utd looking to halt their slide down the table when they visit Aston Villa at 14:00 BST. Ten Hag’s side won just one of their four league matches in September.

A Cole Palmer-inspired Chelsea continued to impress with victory over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend and should be full of confidence when they host Forest at 14:00 BST.

The final Premier League match before the international break sees Brighton welcome Spurs to Amex Stadium at 16:30 BST, with the hosts looking to return to winning ways after going four matches without a victory.
