It was a day not to score first in the Premier League.
Apart from Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton and AFC Bournemouth, all the teams who opened the scoring in Saturday’s action went on to lose the match.
In total, four of the day’s seven matches matches featured a comeback win.
Tottenham Hotspur started things off by coming from a goal down to beat West Ham United 4-1. Then Aston Villa beat Fulham 3-1 after conceding the opener at Craven Cottage, and Manchester United came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Brentford at Old Trafford.
The comeback win of the day came at St Mary's where Leicester City were 2-0 down on the hour and then scored three unanswered goals to beat Southampton, including the winner in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
These matches underlined that this is the season of the fightback. Only on one other day in the past 10 years have there been four comeback wins in the Premier League.
