EA SPORTS Player of the Month shortlist

Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester)
P3 W2 D0 L1 G2 A0
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder scored two goals in three October matches. His winner against AFC Bournemouth gave Leicester City their first victory of the Premier League season, and he followed that up with a goal at Southampton that inspired a sensational 3-2 win from 2-0 down. The Argentinian's efforts meant Leicester ended the month in 15th place, five points above the relegation zone.

Josko Gvardiol (Man City)
P3 W3 D0 L0 G1 A0 CS1
Croatian defender Gvardiol played every minute as Manchester City won all of their October matches - the only team to do so - to storm to the top of the table. As well as scoring a stunning goal in a 2-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers, he created six chances in October, the third-most of any defender, and had more touches and passes than anyone else across the entire Premier League as City ended the month as the competition's only unbeaten team in 2024/25. Remarkably, left-back Gvardiol has had more touches in the final third this season than anyone else.

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford)
P3 W2 D0 L1 G3 A0
Mbeumo continued his blistering start to the season with three goals in as many matches. Only one player outscored the Cameroonian, who got a goal in a 5-3 win over Wolves and a brace, including a stunning added-time winner, in a 4-3 comeback victory over Ipswich Town. It took him to eight goals for the season, second only to Erling Haaland in the Golden Boot race.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
P3 W1 D1 L1 G1 A1
Palmer was superb again in October, pulling the strings for an exciting Chelsea side under Enzo Maresca. He got an assist in a draw with Nottingham Forest before starring in a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, scoring the winner and producing one of the best passes in Premier League history in the lead up to Nicolas Jackson's opening goal. Only three players can better Palmer's eight chances created in October.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
P2 W1 D1 L0 G2 A2
No player got more combined goals and assists in October than Saka, who was directly involved in four goals in just two appearances. He scored and set up two goals in a 3-1 win over Southampton, taking his assists tally for the season to seven, two more than any other player. He then missed the 2-0 defeat at AFC Bournemouth as Arsenal fell to their first loss of the season, before returning and scoring his 50th Premier League goal in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Matz Sels (Nott'm Forest)
P3 W2 D1 L0 CS1 S14
Belgian goalkeeper Sels was in inspired form in October, helping Nott'm Forest go unbeaten through three matches. He made crucial stops in a 1-1 draw at Chelsea, including one in stoppage time, before keeping a clean sheet against a Crystal Palace side who had seven shots on target. Ending the month with a 3-1 win at Leicester, Sels finished October with 14 saves, the second-most in the Premier League.

Danny Welbeck (Brighton)
P3 W2 D1 L0 G3 A0
Thirty-three-year-old Welbeck rolled back the years, scoring in all three of his October matches. He struck the winner in an incredible 3-2 second-half turnaround win over Tottenham Hotspur and followed that up with the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory at Newcastle United, taking him to 100 career Premier League goal involvements. A goal in a 2-2 draw with Wolves meant the striker scored in three successive Premier League matches for the first time since 2014.

Chris Wood (Nott'm Forest)
P3 W2 D1 L0 G4 A0
New Zealand striker Wood was the Premier League's top scorer in October, netting four goals in three appearances. He scored in a draw at Chelsea and in Forest's 1-0 win over Palace before ending the month with a brace at Leicester. His goals helped Forest remain unbeaten through October and rise to seventh in the table.
