When does it all start?

The live ePremier League (ePL) events will once again span two action-packed weekends. The first of these, the ePL Group Stages, will take place on 1-2 March 2025, with the four leading clubs booking their spots at the ePL Finals on Sunday 23 March.

The remaining teams will have a second chance to join them by playing again on Saturday 22 March, with the competition reaching a conclusion the following day.

The format of this season’s live competitions will see clubs working collaboratively, with one player competing on Xbox and another on PS, in a series of 1 v 1 matches against pairings from other clubs.

Who will be competing?

Some of the biggest names in EA SPORTS FC esports have played in the ePL in the past, with the likes of two-time champion Donovan “Tekkz”  Hunt set to compete once more.

Tekkz and Matias Bonanno were crowned 2023/24 ePL champions for Manchester City. After some tough matches on the way to the Final, they overcame Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on aggregate to lift the trophy.

Tekkz said: “Winning the 2023/24 ePremier League and lifting the trophy alongside Mati was an incredible feeling. We worked hard and pushed each other to perform at our best throughout the competition.

“It was a huge honour to claim the title on behalf of Manchester City and to be able to call myself a two-time ePremier League champion was a proud moment in my career. We're looking forward to defending the title this season. We'll be aiming to break more records by becoming the first players and club in ePremier League history to win it back-to-back!”

Premier League Chief Commercial Officer, Will Brass, said: “As we embark on the seventh season of the ePremier League, we are thrilled to bring fans yet another opportunity to compete on behalf of their favourite Premier League club in one of the most exciting esports tournaments in the world.

“This season, we’re pushing the boundaries once again with EA SPORTS FC™ 25. Following online qualification and the Club Playoffs, we will be delivering two action-packed weekends of live action, which fans around the world will be able to watch via Premier League digital channels and broadcast partners.

“Over the last six years, the ePremier League has delivered unforgettable moments, showcasing emerging talent and giving a platform to some of the best EA SPORTS FC players. We can’t wait to see the talent and drama unfold once again and find out who will become this season’s champions.”

Sam Turkbas, Senior Director Esports - EA SPORTS, added: "We’re thrilled to embark on another ePremier League season with EA SPORTS FC Pro, our premier platform crafted for elite esports competition. This event is more than just a tournament; it’s an incredible journey for players of all abilities to progress from playing casually at home to proudly representing their clubs on the grand stage of the ePremier League and beyond. EA SPORTS FC remains dedicated to bringing the spirit of football to life, using esports as a powerful bridge to connect fans with the game they’re passionate about.

"This competition is truly special because it empowers players of all levels to step into the spotlight, transforming from everyday fans into champions for their beloved teams. The opportunity to lift a trophy for their favourite club is now more exciting and accessible than ever!"
