The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their thoughts on who to captain in Gameweek 14 ahead of the deadline at 18:00 GMT on Tuesday 3 December.
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
With double-digit hauls in five of his last six away matches, I'm struggling to find a good reason to go against Mohamed Salah (£13.2m). Cole Palmer (£11.0m) has a great fixture against an error-prone Southampton, so it'll be one of those two, with Salah currently in pole position.
Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)
Brentford's defence is one to target, which makes Ollie Watkins (£9.0m) very tempting. But form suggests Palmer is a safe pick against a Southampton team who play some risky football at the back.
Holly Shand (@HollyShand)
I'll be playing the fixture this Gameweek and backing Chelsea's Palmer against a struggling Southampton. The defensive absentees are mounting up for Saints, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis (£4.1m) suspended for this match, while Chelsea and Palmer are coming into this one in a good run of form!
Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)
I'll be keeping the armband on Palmer. Southampton are rooted to the bottom of the table and Chelsea are in good form so I am expecting Palmer to return in this game.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
Gameweek 13 was a close call between Salah and Palmer, and Gameweek 14 is no different. I went with Palmer last time out and as things stand, I'm more likely to back the Englishman again knowing it's the best fixture match-up. Newcastle United's defensive performances of late are a cause for concern however, so it's a close call and I'm also expecting Salah to have some joy at St James' Park.
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
Palmer is the standout option if you have him in your team, especially as he faces a Southampton side who have conceded the third-most goals in the league and will be without Flynn Downes (£4.8m), Tyler Dibling (£4.5m) and Harwood-Bellis. Both Nicolas Jackson (£8.1m) and Enzo Fernandez (£4.8m) are great differential picks from Chelsea too, but don't rule out Salah, who now has the same amount of double-digit hauls already as he got in the whole of last season.
Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)
The armband for me is between Salah and Palmer. I do have Jackson in my team currently so I favour Salah, given I have a double-up on the Chelsea attack but only one Liverpool attacker and both are very even.
Mark McGettigan (@FPLGeneral)
It's an easy decision this week with Palmer playing Southampton. Saints have the worst Expected Goals Conceded (xGC) number in the league this season, with 27.84.
Az Phillips (@FPLBlackBox_Az)
Quite an easy decision if you own Palmer. He plays the team bottom of the league and with key personnel in Aaron Ramsdale (£4.4m), Harwood-Bellis, Jan Bednarek (£4.0m), Downes and Dibling all missing through injury or suspension.
