There was dismay for a host of Fantasy Premier League managers on Saturday after Morgan Rogers (£5.3m) registered his biggest EVER return.
With the Aston Villa midfielder facing champions Manchester City, 340,000+ FPL bosses parted company with Rogers ahead of the Gameweek 17 deadline, making him the most-sold midfielder and the fourth most-sold player overall.
A further 889,000+ managers have left him on their bench, making him the most-benched outfield player.
Rogers punished that lack of faith by producing a goal and an assist in Aston Villa's 2-1 win, earning a 14-point return, including the maximum three bonus points.
GW17 most-sold players
Player | Sold by | Pts |
---|---|---|
Ait-Nouri | 915,742 | 0 |
Welbeck | 385,572 | 0 |
Haaland | 362,999 | 2 |
Rogers | 341,350 | 14 |
Cunha | 278,572 | 9 |
Among the other most-sold players, Matheus Cunha (£7.1m) scored and picked up an extra three bonus points as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Leicester City 3-0. His nine-point return takes him up to second in the Fantasy forward standings, four points adrift of Erling Haaland (£14.9m).
The Brazilian is the subject of an FA misconduct charge, however, following the Gameweek 16 match against Ipswich Town.
Danny Welbeck (£5.7m) and Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.8m) both missed Gameweek 17 through injury and suspension respectively.
Meanwhile, Haaland blanked for the fourth time in six matches. His ownership is now down to 35.4 per cent, the lowest it's ever been in Fantasy.
