The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts give their thoughts on who to captain in Gameweek 19 ahead of the deadline at 13:00 GMT on Sunday 29 December.
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
Liverpool are now the league's top scorers, with 40 goals. Mohamed Salah (£13.5m) has scored 16 of them and produced a lot of assists and bonus points too. Alexander Isak (£9.1m) is in the conversation for me too, against a Manchester United side who are without Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m). But Salah's regular double-digit hauls are too good to ignore.
Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)
Ipswich Town are a team to target defensively, which makes in-form Cole Palmer (£11.3m) my captain.
Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)
West Ham United are without Lukasz Fabianski (£4.1m), Tomas Soucek (£4.9m), Max Kilman (£4.4m), Guido Rodriguez (£4.8m) and potentially Carlos Soler (£5.0m) for the visit of Liverpool. Salah is the clear choice, then, even though Palmer and Erling Haaland (£14.8m) both face promoted sides.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
Palmer will have an extra day's rest compared to Salah, which makes this a very close contest for me. I own Phil Foden (£9.2m), who arguably has the best fixture of all three, but putting him in the captaincy conversation may be a step too far given Man City's poor form.
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
There are a number of good options this week. Palmer, the second-highest scoring player in the game, has an attractive fixture against Ipswich. However, the highest-scoring player in the game, Salah, has a trip to West Ham, who are likely to be without goalkeeper Fabianski, who was substituted with a head injury in Gameweek 18.
Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)
There is only one captain for me and that is Salah. Incredibly, he has scored or assisted in each of his last 10 games and is racing towards 200 points before the turn of the year.
