The Scout provides analysis as Assistant Manager prices are revealed in Fantasy Premier League ahead of the chip being available to use in Gameweek 24.
There’s no real surprise regarding the five managers in the top-tier bracket of £1.5m – they are the most likely to provide wins and goals, after all.
Liverpool’s Arne Slot (£1.5m) is the top-scoring manager overall this season on 159 points and a price of £1.5m is indicative of his consistent output.
Nonetheless, Liverpool’s lofty league position does limit Slot’s points ceiling using the chip. Managers earn table bonus if they win or draw against an opponent who is at least five places higher in the table before the Gameweek starts, so you can collect an EXTRA 10 points for a win, 16 in total, or an additional five points for a draw, eight in total.
As a result, Slot’s best rolling three-Gameweek haul is 34 points, compared with the league-high 47 points of AFC Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola (£1.1m).
A look at the top 10 managers for rolling three-Gameweek scores also helps to highlight the appeal of seeking out value and targeting the table bonus aspect of the Assistant Manager chip.
Only TWO of the top seven – Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe, along with Slot – will set you back £1.5m.
Essentially, it comes down to how much risk you are willing to take when playing the Assistant Manager chip.

Along with Slot and Howe, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta (£1.5m) and Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca (£1.5m) are also among the 10 top-scoring managers in a three-Gameweek period. They are less likely to let you down and are subsequently the most expensive.
Nottingham Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo could prove great value at £1.1m, although he cannot currently collect the table bonus as his side are in third position. And the same can almost be said for Iraola now, with Bournemouth in seventh place.
Take a chance on Glasner or Pereira?
Instead, it’s Fulham’s Marco Silva and Tottenham Hotspur’s Ange Postecoglou who may be the best picks in the £1.1m bracket due to their greater points potential, while Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Vitor Pereira already look the most appealing at £0.8m.
Glasner was the top-scoring manager in a three-Gameweek rolling period in 2023/24 Fantasy after arriving as head coach midway through the season.
Similarly to the Eagles’ Austrian, Pereira has been quick to show why investing in “the new manager bounce” when a club changes head coach can pay off.
The Portuguese amassed 41 points across Gameweeks 17-19, thanks to wins over Leicester City and Manchester United and a draw against Spurs.
That total immediately hands him second place for the best three-Gameweek period, knocking Howe’s 39 points into third.
